Alexander Proudfoot Appoints Executive Vice President for Life Sciences

The Life Sciences sector is an industry in transformation. Following years of growth, companies now face a new era and one distinguished by a changing healthcare landscape, pricing pressures, heightened regulatory scrutiny, increasing alliances and acquisitions as well as expiring patents and increased competition from generics. Companies are under pressure to change—and quickly as they look to meet these challenges head on.

Over the past 67 years, Alexander Proudfoot has been partnering with numerous companies in the sector. However, the current industry challenges will require additional resources. As Executive Vice President for Alexander Proudfoot’s Life Sciences Practice, Denness will lead the firm’s efforts to enhance and expand the services offered to clients across the sector.

A graduate from Missouri State University, he understands the global environment and the challenges facing Life Sciences companies, having worked in Asia-Pacific, Europe, Canada, and the US. He has direct experience of driving revenue, building brands, and greatly improving profitability. He has held various executive leadership roles, including General Manager, Australia and New Zealand with Schering-Plough, President of IVAX Laboratories, Vice President, Managed Care at UCB, Vice President and General Manager of UCB’s Central Nervous System business unit, and CEO of Vycor Medical.
