Award Recognizes Entrepreneurial Excellence in Emerging Category

LOS ANGELES, June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Agensys, Inc. a biotechnology company, today announced that Dr. Donald Rice, Founder, President, & CEO, received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year(R) 2008 Award in the Emerging category in the Greater Los Angeles Area. According to Ernst & Young LLP, the award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses. Dr. Donald Rice was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a gala event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on June 24, 2008.

"This award belongs to the entire Agensys team, a small group that built an integrated biotech company that has so far brought forward 5 novel products that will help many cancer patients in the future," said Dr. Rice. "Helping cancer sufferers will be the ultimate reward."

Agensys develops monoclonal antibodies to its own novel targets to treat a variety of human cancers. It operates today as a separate subsidiary of the parent, with Dr. Rice as President and CEO.

The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards celebrate their 22nd anniversary this year. The program honors entrepreneurs who have demonstrated exceptionality in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

"Ernst & Young is pleased to honor outstanding business leaders such as Dr. Donald Rice," said Brian Ring, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Program Director for the Greater Los Angeles Area. "Winners of the Entrepreneur Of The Year award build leading businesses and contribute a great deal to the communities around them. Their success helps our area grow stronger."
