Date:12/8/2008

MELVILLE, N.Y., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Adecco, the world leader in workforce and recruitment solutions announced today that it was honored by Alcon Inc., the world's leading eye care company with its prestigious 2008 Supplier of Excellence Award. In the 32 years that Alcon has been recognizing top suppliers, this is the first time they have ever recognized a staffing services provider with this award. There are thousands of suppliers of products and services to Alcon Laboratories and four were selected as recipients of the Supplier of Excellence Award this year.

Roy Anderson, Director of Global Purchasing at Alcon Inc., said, "Adecco has supplied top notch talent, both in terms of their management as well as the contractors on assignment to Alcon across the United States. The local team has taken the initiative to learn the various functions and ensure that all our qualifications are met. This approach has allowed us to significantly reduce rogue spend, decrease cost, streamline processes, and find additional ways to add real and measurable value."

"We are extremely honored to work with such a great company and be recognized for our service," said Jamie Parker, president and chief operating officer of Adecco Engineering & Technical. "In 2007, Adecco became one of Alcon's preferred contingent staffing providers. Our General Staffing and Engineering and Technical divisions quickly and efficiently began fulfilling Alcon's requirements and engaged with their team to best understand the company's unique culture," he continued.

The Alcon Inc. Supplier of Excellence Award is determined by nominations from the company's domestic facilities. Alcon works with thousands of suppliers and only three to five Suppliers of Excellence Awards are granted each year.
