Date:11/15/2012

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Accelrys, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACCL), a leading provider of scientific innovation lifecycle management software, today announced release 6.1 of the Accelrys Materials Studio® modeling and simulation environment, providing seamless integration with the Accelrys Pipeline Pilot scientific authoring application, the scientifically aware Accelrys Enterprise Platform and Accelrys Materials Studio Collection. This newly integrated offering enables computational scientists to innovate and collaborate across the global enterprise for the first time, speeding time to market and improving competitiveness with a scientific innovation lifecycle management approach extending across the discovery-to-lab-to-plant continuum.

"The Pipeline Pilot protocols we've developed with the Materials Studio Collection save hours of time," said Dr. Misbah Sarwar, research scientist at Johnson-Matthey. "Typically, calculating the adsorption and segregation energies for all the materials would take approximately a day if done manually including plotting charts. The Pipeline Pilot protocol does this in seconds."

Accelrys Materials Studio release 6.1 accelerates product innovation by enabling experts to encapsulate and automate computational best practices in reusable "protocols" using Accelrys Pipeline Pilot. Integration with the Accelrys Enterprise Platform then provides the ability to deploy computational science to the global enterprise by exposing protocols in web browsers and ot
