Date:10/10/2011

AUGUSTA, Ga., Oct. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AWAC, an inVentiv Health company, and a leading provider of physician directed, nurse supported, technology enabled medical management solutions, announced today that it has changed its name to inVentiv Medical Management.

The new name and organization – unveiled today at the Self-Insurance Institute of America National Conference in Phoenix, Arizona – better reflects the company's expanded solutions, revitalized mission and a commitment to improving healthcare quality, costs, and outcomes.  The name also underscores inVentiv Health's commitment to deploying its vast resources to deliver a broad range of best-in-class services to meet the changing needs of global healthcare clients.

"inVentiv Medical Management isn't just a name.  It is a new organization that will be faster, more innovative, and committed to creating integrated service solutions that reduce healthcare costs and improve healthcare quality and patient outcomes," said Marc Palmer, CEO of inVentiv Medical Management.

Founded in 1991, the company's initial focus was on reviewing healthcare claims for services before they were paid using AWAC®, a proprietary technology, and physician review.  AWAC will continue to be the technology platform of inVentiv Medical Management.

The name inVentiv Medical Management reflects a full-suite of integrated, innovative service solutions including: iProcert™, a physician-led utilization review service; Case Management; iHealth™, a comprehensive wellness program; Disease Management; and Accountable Care Solutions™; a balanced solution promoting cost-effective, safe, and integrated care for patients with cancer, cardiovascular, or chronic kidney disease.

"Our new name now reflects who we are and what we do with greater clarity," concluded Palmer.
