AMS Co-Founder John Hauser Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Applied Marketing Science, Inc. (AMS), a leading-edge market research and consulting firm, is proud to announce that its co-founder, John Hauser, recently received the Eleventh Annual Buck Weaver Award for Marketing at the INFORMS Society of Marketing Science Conference in Istanbul, Turkey. The award is given by the INFORMS Society of Marketing Science to individuals who have made important achievements to the field of marketing science.

Dr. Hauser co-founded Applied Marketing Science in 1989. He is the Kirin Professor of Marketing and former Head of the Management Science Area at Sloan. He has also served MIT as Co-Director of the International Center for Research on the Management of Technology and Co-Director of MIT’s Center for Innovation in Product Development. Dr. Hauser has expertise in survey research, marketing management, new product development, and statistical research methodology and is continually researching new methods and trends in the marketing science field. Dr. Hauser serves as a key expert for AMS’s Litigation Support business and consults on AMS’s Product and Process Innovation business. He continually applies his knowledge of survey research at Applied Marketing Science in cases related to Intellectual Property, Marketing and Market Research.

Dr. Hauser received the Buck Weaver Award for his lifetime contribution to theory and practice in the development of rigor and relevance in marketing science. The Buck Weaver Award honors distinguished scholars and practitioners who have excelled in the achievement of rigor and relevance in marketing science. Henry Grady “Buck” Weaver was an innovator in marketing research and market-based decision making in the 1930’s. As Director of Consumer Research for General Motors, he was an expert in consumer research on attitudes, opinions, preferences, and customer design feature priorities. General Motors and MIT co-developed this award, which is now judged and presented by the INFORMS Society of Marketing Science.
