A Perfect Record: WriteResult Maintains a 100% On-Time ePRO Record with Latest Irritable Bowel (IBS) Study Data Lock
Date:8/27/2014

Cranford, NJ (PRWEB) August 27, 2014

WriteResult, LLC – a premier provider of ePRO technologies and services – has once again shown superiority when it comes to meeting the needs of a global trial sponsor by completing the ePRO portion of their most recent study closeout on-time and with near perfect results. The Japan-based pharma chose WriteResult’s digital writing platform to collect Patient Reported Outcomes electronically for several IBS trials – the first to complete drew data from a number of assessments including the IBS-Severity Score (IBS-SS), IBS-Quality of Life (IBS-QoL), Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), and Revised Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQR).

Irritable bowel syndrome is a common disorder that causes significant abdominal discomfort and severely impacts many aspects of life. Up to 81% of patients with the chronic pain disorder Fibromyalgia (FM) also suffer from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), further exacerbating the patient’s distress. “Digital writing is a great option for many trials like this one because it automates data collection and allows for proactive data management like other devices, but it doesn’t impact the workflow at the site or increase burden to the patient who is already impacted by their condition,” states Karen Briegs, VP of Sales and Marketing at WriteResult. “We print the forms on special paper and provide the research sites with a pen that has a tiny digital camera at the tip that records every pen stroke. Our software then merges the pen stroke data with a digital image of the form to create an exact electronic replica of the page - no typing required.”

Project Lead and Senior Project Manager for the study Amani Kitali states, “Our goal is to take ePRO off the minds and the critical path of our sponsors. It is important for our team internally here at WriteResult to set a commitment to our study team partners, and to meet that commitment every time. We work hard to attain this goal and we are proud to be able to report a perfect on-time record once again”.

The digital pen system is easy to use for sites and patients, and is a full-service solution offered by WriteResult for a variety of data collection scenarios. For more information on this and other ePRO solutions, please visit http://www.writeresult.com.
