Led by industry veteran Dr Christopher Gallen, CEO, of the Korean-based life science company, SK BioPharmaceuticals, the 2013 program places special emphases on how to reduce the complexities of global clinical trials.

Brand new this year is a section on Lessons Learned from Unsuccessful Global Clinical Trials led by Dr. Debra Barker, Chief Scientific Officer, Emerging Markets, Novartis.

"We are really pleased with the outpouring of interest from senior-level executives wanting to be part of the speaking faculty to help the industry with global clinical challenges,” Valerie Bowling, Executive Director of The Conference Forum.

The Global Clinical Trials event received a wonderful response from the industry to be part of the event due to the latest industry developments and advancements as well as the event’s history. The extensive speaking faculty includes Dr. Mitchell Katz, Executive Director, Medical Research Operations, Purdue Pharma; Dr. Marielle Cohard-Radice, Vice President, Clinical Development Operations, Daiichi Sankyo Pharma Development; Jodie Morrison, CEO, Tokai Pharmaceuticals; and Ross Pettit, Vice President, Clinical Operations, AMAG Pharmaceuticals.

Exciting new and hot topics addressed include Re-thinking the Patient Experience; Designing Patient-Centric Protocols to Increase Global Patient Engagement and Reducing Protocol Complexity; and an Update on Risk Based Monitoring.

One of the best-rated and most popular sections of the conference is the regional roundtables, where experts with experience from all over the world (including China, India, Japan, Latin America and the EU) answer one-on-one questions, covering such topics as how to work globally with different regulatory agencies and patient recruitment, enrollment and engagement.

There will be many opportunities for networking, with special breaks, a breakfast and a luncheon. The conference has been described by attendees as having a “congenial and friendly atmosphere with fostered communication between speakers and attendees” as well as being “knowledgeable and interesting, interactive and provocative.”
