LONG BRANCH, N.J., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2009 Pharma ChemOutsourcing Conference & Exhibition attendance is way up again in 2009 and is poised to shatter the attendance record set in 2008. The remarkable success of last year's meeting generated the positive buzz responsible for much of the growth. Attendance for the September 14-16, 2009 event is expected to be about 1000.
Also attracting high attendance is the conference program newly focused on the outsourcing needs of small molecule biotech companies, today's drivers behind much of the growth of the pharmaceutical industry, reports Mark Alexay of Apaporis LLC, the organizer. In 2009, 35 different biotech company chemists are participating as speakers.
The high interest in the new biotech track offers biotech company process and medicinal chemistry, supply chain and manufacturing management personnel opportunity to share their chemical sourcing experiences and strategies. Given the small size of most of the firms, the 35 speakers provide a rare glimpse into the challenges they face to secure external suppliers to do their scale up manufacturing. The track may be viewed at http://www.chemoutsourcing.com/agenda.trackd.php
Biotech participants include speakers from King Pharmaceuticals, Medivation, GPC Biotech, Theravance, Bionumerik Pharmaceuticals, Anthera Pharmaceuticals, Palatin Technologies, Magen Biosciences, Inspire Pharmaceuticals, Geron Pharmaceuticals, Phenomix Corporation and CoNCERT Pharmaceuticals.
The show will take place at the beachfront Ocean Place Resort in Long Branch, NJ. The high end venue affords beach area for nightly barbecues and parties to facilitate informal networking. The show kicks off on Sunday, September 13 and ends Wednesday, September 1
