WICHITA, Kan., July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2008 Kansas Day of Innovation featuring the fifth annual Great Plains Capital Conference will be held in Wichita, Kansas, Thursday, September 4th, 2008 at the Wichita Marriott, 9100 Corporate Hills Drive. The conference sponsors are focused on providing early stage, high-growth companies in Kansas with an opportunity to attract seed and early stage financing. "This has grown to be a dynamic event that brings emerging technology entrepreneurs and investors together," says Trish Brasted, President & CEO of Wichita Technology Corporation. Applications are currently being accepted from companies who would like to present.
The conference will feature presentations from 10 of the state's most innovative technology or biotechnology entrepreneurs. Each company will present their respective business plans to conference attendees. Each presentation will last approximately 15 minutes and will include a brief description of their company's business case, financing needs and future potential. The range of investment being sought will vary from $250,000 to $5 million. "The Great Plains Capital Conference gave us exposure to the Midwest investment community at a level that we could not have received anywhere else. The conference really positioned us for capitalization that led to our continued growth and sale of the company," says David Raehpour.
Entrepreneurs seeking seed or early stage capital who want to present at the conference may apply online by Friday, August 1st. Presenters will be selected based on the quality and experience of the management team, the proprietary nature of the product or services, market opportunity, financials and return potential.
