Aegis Analytical Corp. Showcases Discoverant at Inaugural Venture Capital in the Rockies Fall

Aegis Analytical Corp. today announced that it will present at the inaugural Venture Capital in the Rockies (VCIR) Fall conference, September 9-11, in Sun Valley, Idaho. Showcasing the most promising emerging growth companies from the Rocky Mountain region, the VCIR Fall conference assembles hundreds of venture investors, CEOs, entrepreneurs and service professionals to network and learn first hand about the venture funding and entrepreneurial opportunities that are flourishing throughout the region.

SUN VALLEY, Idaho & LAFAYETTE, Colo. (Business Wire EON) September 9, 2008 -- Robert Di Scipio, chief executive officer of Aegis, will present the impact Aegis' Discoverant software solution delivers to life sciences manufacturers, such as Baxter, Biogen Idec, Genzyme and Merck Serono.

"Aegis is honored to be included in an impressive group of emerging companies," Di Scipio commented. "We look forward to sharing at VCIR how many of the world's largest pharmaceutical and biotech companies use Discoverant for on-demand data access and analytics in both process development and manufacturing environments to scale-up and better control their manufacturing processes."

Aegis' Discoverant software provides manufacturers with on-demand access to their disparate production data integrated with powerful analysis, trending and reporting capabilities which enable them to reduce process variability, accelerate products to market and meet supply chain demands and compliance obligations. Although Aegis has focused its efforts on the life sciences vertical market, Discoverant is applicable to any manufacturing environment in which production data is captured and analyzed to determine root causes of production outcomes.

"VCIR Fall represents a significant milestone for the Rocky Mountain venture capital community and the eight companies that have been selected to present," said Mark Solon, RMVCA board member and conference chair of VCIR Fall 2008. "Aegis Analytical's technological innovation and niche solution set positions them well to meet the challenges life sciences organizations encounter today and anticipate tomorrow. We are proud to have Aegis Analytical present and look forward to helping advance Aegis for the next stage of its growth."

Among the many speakers, noted anthropologist Wade Davis of National Geographic will provide the conference's keynote presentation. Providing a unique perspective, Davis' presentation, "The effects of globalization: A journey through the realm of vanishing cultures," will discuss the impact that technology is having on our culture and society. Additional speakers at the event will include Yahoo's Greg Cohn, Google's Scott Green, HP's Sanjiv Parikh, Amazon's Jeff Barr, as well as Bob Maynard, chief investment officer with PERSI.

VCIR Fall will present companies ranging from seed stage through expansion capital and will cover the spectrum from information technology, to software to telecommunications. Participation was selected based on a formal review and selection committee comprised of venture capitalists from the region.
