Description microPET 220 utilizes utilizies CTI Molecular Imaging's proprietary Focus™ detector technology leading to superior resolution, sensitivty, and a large imaging volume that enables the user the flexibility to image multiple mice or large primateswithout compromising iamge quality.

microPET is a dedicated small animal PET (Positron Emission Tomography) imaging device. microPET provides researchers in the biomedical sciences with a compact and very high performance PET system that can be used to non-invasively image a wide range of laboratory animals in a routine laboratory setting. Researchers around the world are using microPET scanners to

  • Study animal models of human disease
  • Study genetically engineered animals
  • Assess new pharmacological agents in drug development
  • Assess novel drug delivery and gene therapy approaches
  • Develop new molecular imaging assays
  • Develop new radiotracers for use in diagnostic imaging
Non-invasive, in vivo functional imaging with microPET allows both serial and longitudinal studies to be conducted in the same animal. This gives the researchers the opportunity to follow a single animal over time and to monitor the effects of interventions on disease progression and outcome. microPET is therefore a particularly valuable tool in animal models that have high intrinsic value or which exhibit high variability.

All scanners utilize unique Lutetium Oxyorthosilicate (LSO) detector technology, and include a computer controlled bed, a laser alignment system, a dual processor computer, a rotating source holder for attenuation correction measurements, data acquisition electronics and software for data acquisition, correction, image reconstruction, image display and basic image analysis. The system is mounted on wheels allowing easy relocation and has a footprint of just 47" (119 cm)L by 27.5" (70 cm)W by 58" (48 cm)H.

More about CTI Molecular Imaging.. is the leading provider of positron emission tomography (PET) imaging equipment and services. We enable healthcare providers, physicians, and their patients to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, cardiac disease, and neurological disorders. We provide the most complete and integrated product line, including PET scanners, cyclotrons, molecular probes, detector materials, and support services. Our strategy is to capitalize on our breadth in PET and provide the only "total solution" for healthcare providers. We distribute a wide range of products for both clinical and research applications.

More about PET.PET is a unique imaging technology that provides information to the user about the living organisms biochemical processes and location of disease at the molecular level.
