Description cDNA normalization is essential for hunting and analyzing the rare transcripts using high-throughput approaches, such as EST sequencing projects, microarrays, functional screenings etc. Most normalization methods are not well suited for the normalization of long cDNA. The Evrogen TRIMMER kit, though, is specially developed for normalization of cDNA enriched with full-length sequences. Using TRIMMER, scientists can obtain normalized cDNA samples in which individual cDNA sizes range from 0.5 to 4.5 kb. This normalization is performed prior to cDNA cloning, and does not include physical separation steps. Normalization using the TRIMMER kit significantly increases the efficiency of random sequencing. The TRIMMER kit is based on a unique DSN normalization technology (Zhulidov et al., Nucl. Acids. Res. 2004, 32: e37). It is specifically designed to normalize amplified cDNA that was prepared using the popular template-switching-effect based approach (SMART).
