Description The Staccato Application Series are a line of pre-integrated and pre-assembled systems designed to provide fast and reliable automated solutions to specific applications. Utilizing proven and robust "automation-friendly" building blocks, Caliper has created compact, reliable solutions that cost less than conventional approaches, take up little lab space and allow scientists and researchers to focus more of their time on science and less on engineering.

The Staccato Cell Station - Assay is a remarkably compact system for performing a variety of cell based assays. Unlike custom systems which typically require long delivery times and extensive factory and site acceptance testing, the Staccato Cell Station-Assay is a standard product which is available with 30 day delivery (45 day international). The system is pre-integrated and arrives mostly assembled, requiring less than one day of installation. All system components are pre-mounted and all device locations are taught at the factory. Automated teaching routines are included allowing the system to be re-taught in the field in less than five minutes. Methods are created and scheduled using Caliper's industry leading CLARA software. CLARA is used to automate more lab systems than any other system software. Caliper's Applied Science & Technology Group works with a variety of reagent and consumables manufactures to pre-validate common assays for all Caliper systems.

All Staccato Application Series systems use a revolutionary new base table design called iBLOX™. iBLOX™ are modular tables that can be interconnected to form a variety of system configurations, using just three basic foundations, (A-Block, B-Block and C-Block). Each table comes with casters, allowing them to be easily rolled about, set in place and quickly leveled for operation. iBLOX™ provide "usable scalability" in that one can start with just a Sciclone liquid handler on an "A Block" and add additional automation at a later time, with no reconfiguration or loss of initial investment.
