| Description | The Staccato Series of systems provide fast and reliable scalable automation for today's drug discovery, genomics, proteomics and drug development laboratories. Staccato systems are available in three base configurations; Mini Workstation Series, Application Series and Custom Systems Series. All Staccato Application Series systems use a revolutionary new base table design called iBLOX™. iBLOX™ are modular tables that can be interconnected to form a variety of system configurations, using just three basic foundations, (A-Block, B-Block and C-Block). Each table comes with casters, allowing them to be easily rolled about, set in place and quickly leveled for operation. iBLOX™ provide "usable scalability" in that one can start with just a Sciclone liquid handler on an "A Block" and add additional automation at a later time, with no reconfiguration or loss of initial investment. The Staccato Sciclone Replication Station is a highly modular system for automating complex reformatting, replication and hitpicking operations. The most basic Sciclone Replication Station features a Sciclone ALH 3000 liquid handler on an iBLOX base table. The Sciclone liquid handler is the most flexible liquid handler available with a twenty position deck and a variety of on-deck options such as shaking and temperature controlled locators or positive pressure filtration, to name but a few. Sciclone is able to swap arrays ‘on the fly’ and can support any one of three interchangeable heads (nL, Low Volume or High Volume) and also supports a bulk reagent dispenser as well as the eight channel ‘Z8.’ Sciclone also offers an optional servo gripper for on-deck automation. For additional walk away time, Sciclone Replication Station can be field retrofitted with a Twister II robot on an iBLOX base unit. For maximum automated loading, a Presto AutoStack unit may also be field retrofitted. The system is pre-integrated and arrives mostly assembled, requiring less than one day of installation. All system components are pre-mounted and all device locations are taught at the factory. Automated teaching routines are included allowing the system to be re-taught in the field in less than five minutes. Methods are easily and quickly created using Caliper's industry leading iLink software. Caliper's Applied Science & Technology Group works with a variety of reagent and consumables manufactures to pre-validate common assays for all Caliper systems. |
