Description The integration of 2D polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2D-PAGE) with biological mass spectrometry is widely regarded as a core technology platform for proteomic analysis. 2D-PAGE gels offer unparalleled resolving power for complex samples limited only in the dynamic range and ability to resolve small and large proteins. Quantitative image based analysis of separated proteins has been a major development in biomedical investigations.
  • Sophisticated spot detection algorithm and quantitation even for low intensity spots
A precise and accurate spot detection algorithm designed specially for gel image analysis provides the platform for effective quantitative gel comparisons.
  • Data review and editing
Data review tools include a spot filtering function (to focus on areas of interest). For gel comparison a tool kit has been designed to highlight specific elements of the gel of potential biological significance.
  • Parameters for automatic spot detection are easily entered using the set-up wizard.
  • Background subtraction is flexible and fully informative.
  • Intensity calibration and normalization features enable quantitative accuracy.
  • An extensive set of user-friendly tools make editing a quick and simple process.
  • Generate spot picking lists and export them directly to the Xcise spot picking robot.
  • Tables and image views dynamically linked to display spots of interest and record expression change.
  • Automatic matching, with the option to add user-defined seeds for improving matching of gels displaying significant displacement.
