Description The QPatch sports 16-independent channels for automated gigaseal patch clamping. The system is used for screening against voltage-gated ion channels, such as hERG and ligand-gated channels, such as GABA channels. The four pipette heads afford more efficient assays and faster throughput for ion channel drug discovery. The glass-coated tunnels of the QPlate electrode arrays provide confidence that sticky compounds are not being absorbed, which could lead to costly right-shifted IC50 values. The QPatch also includes an on-board cell preparation station that allows ~ 4 hours of unattended operation. Finally, the QPatch-16 was designed with many more channels in mind.
