Description Source: Crotalus adamanteus venom
Description:
Phosphodiesterase I (venom exonuclease) is widely used in studying nucleic acid structure and sequence(1). It hydrolyzes 5'-mononucleotides from 3'-hydroxy-terminated ribo-oligonucleotides and deoxyribo-oligonucleotides(2). Phosphodiesterase I cleaves ADP-ribosylated proteins at the pyrophosphate linkages to yield phosphoribosyl-AMP(3).

Inhibitors: 5mM EDTA, reducing agents (gluthathione, cysteine and ascorbic acid), partial
inhibition by ATP, ADP and AMP
Form:
Lyophilized powder
Purity:
Partially purified by the method of Bjrk(4) and treated to remove contaminating
5' nucleotidase(5).
