| Description | Product Mouse monoclonal [1320] to RFC1 Immunogen Recombinant protein corresponding to the p37 subunit of human Replication Factor C expressed in E. coli. Reactivity / Specificity Cross-reacts with Human and S. cerevisiae. Not yet tested in other species. This antibody recognizes the p37 subunit of RFC1 Background Information Replication factor C is a multisubunit, DNA polymerase accessory protein required for the coordinated synthesis of both DNA strands during simian virus 40 DNA replication in vitro. It consists of five different subunits known as p140, p40, p38, p37, and p36. RFC is a DNA-dependent ATPase that binds in a structure-specific manner to the 3-prime end of a primer hybridized to a template DNA, an activity thought intrinsic to the 140-kD component of this multisubunit complex. A full-length mouse cDNA has been isolated, which encodes a protein that binds in a sequence-unspecific manner to DNA, is localized exclusively in the nucleus, and represents the 140-kD subunit of mouse replication factor C. The protein encoded by this cDNA showed 83% identity to the human protein. |
