MagicMark XP Western Protein Standard from Invitrogen

ProductsMagicMark XP Western Protein Standard from Invitrogen
Company Invitrogen
Item MagicMark XP Western Protein Standard
Description MagicMark and MagicMark XP Western Protein Standards are specifically designed for easy and convenient protein molecular weight estimation directly on western blots. Each standard protein contains an IgG binding site, allowing direct visualization with the same antibody-conjugate reagents used to detect your target protein on the blots. Colorimetric, chemiluminescent, or fluorescent detection methods can be used for analysis. This innovative method eliminates the extra reagents and steps required by other western standards while providing more accurate molecular weight estimation. MagicMark and MagicMark XP Standards are compatible with Tris-Glycine and NuPAGE Gels. Both standards offer:

Direct visualization of molecular weight standard bands on western blots with the commonly used immunodetection methods, including alkaline-phosphatase and horseradish peroxidase systems-no extra reagents and steps needed

  • Intense protein standard bands that are captured directly on x-ray film or imaging systems-eliminates misalignment or mismarking of standard bands (Figures 1A and 1C)
  • Sharp standard bands are visualized with your target protein on the membrane using chromogenic detection--no more faded bands on blots (Figure 1B)
  • Clear bands in even increments-nine bands from 20-220 kDa on MagicMark XP Standard and eight bands from 20-120 kDa on MagicMark Standard
  • Convenient, ready-to-use format--no mixing, reducing, heating, or diluting
  • Clear bands are visualized with Coomassie stain on SDS-PAGE gel (Figure 2)--versatile for different applications
