Description The H2OBIT is a fully licensed, high throughput, water bath thermal cycler capable of the simultaneous processing of up to 24 microplates. This equates to 9,216 reactions per run when using 384-well plates.

A robotic arm rapidly transfers a basket of plates between three water baths resulting in temperature ramping times that are considerably faster than those of peltier block cyclers.

The temperature of each water bath is microprocessor controlled, ensuring a temperature variance of 0.2C. This provides excellent well-to-well and plate-to-plate uniformity to give identical and reproducible PCR reactions. The H2OBIT is operated by a computer management system, which allows full data tracking of all PCR runs and enables integration into a LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).

The Peel Seal basket

For applications requiring a peelable seal, the Peel Seal basket allows plates sealed with ABgenes Easy Peel*, Clear Seal* and Easy Pierce* (in addition to the seals listed above) to be processed in the H2OBIT. The plates, held face-to-face in a metal casing, are pressed tightly together with a silicone insert between them ensuring no loss of sample. After cycling, the seal can be easily peeled off by hand; the plates remain extremely flat and can be re-sealed if required.
