"Digital Fingerprinting for Kids" event on April 18 at Pembroke Mall, Virginia Beach
CHESAPEAKE, Va., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Turner Network Sales (TNS), the distribution, sales and marketing arm of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.), and truTV, are partnering with Cox Communications of Hampton Roads to present truTV's highly-regarded "Digital Fingerprinting for Kids" event, a service designed to help prevent crimes against children by offering parents and guardians practical tools that include digital fingerprints and safety tips. The Hampton Roads event will be held on April 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Cox Kiosk, Food Court of Pembroke Mall in Virginia Beach.

truTV has fingerprinted thousands of children since the program's initiation in 2002. Each child receives an 8 x 10 printout with photo, fingerprints, and personal information such as height, weight, and hair color. Information and fingerprints are strictly for the privacy of the families, and no information is kept on file. In addition, the first 300 kids attending each event will receive a free DNA kit, safety whistle and magnet.
