UNC scientists garner new NIH awards for high risk, transformative research

he founding director of the UNC Institute for Advanced Materials, Nanoscience and Technology, and the UNC Institute for Nanomedicine; and co-principle investigator of the Carolina Center of Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence. He is also William R. Kenan, Jr. Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at North Carolina State University.

The three researchers' grants are among 115 awards worth $348 million announced today by the NIH to encourage investigators to explore bold ideas that have the potential to catapult fields forward and speed the translation of research into improved health.
