Springer, one of the worlds leading STM publishers, has signed publishing agreements with eight South Korean scientific societies during the past half year. With this move, Springer will be the publisher of a representative selection of Korean society journals and confirms its long tradition of dedication to publishing the increasing amount of research coming from Asia.
Agreements to start publishing their journals in 2008 were signed with the Korean Society of Civil Engineers, the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Korean Fiber Society, the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers, the Pharmaceutical Society of Korea, the Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengineering, the Korean Society of Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and the Microbiological Society of Korea.
Hubertus von Riedesel, Vice President Publishing Physical Sciences and Engineering at Springer, said, Springer is proud and excited to start working with so many well-respected and prestigious South Korean society journals .
Maurice Kwong, Managing Director of Springer Asia, said, The Korean society journal publishing agreements are of strategic importance for Springer to provide the global scientific community with more quality content from Asia.
All journals will be published both in print and online at www.springerlink.com and will include such features as Cross Reference Linking and Alert services.
