Springer and the Beijing Normal University Press sign agreement on new book series
Date:5/11/2012

STM publisher Springer and Beijing Normal University Press (BNUP) will co-publish a new book series IHDP-Integrated Risk Governance Project Series. The agreements for the first seven titles of this series were signed by Derk Haank, CEO Springer Science+Business Media, and Prof. Geng Yang, CEO of BNUP, at this year's London Book Fair.

The Integrated Risk Governance Project (IRG-Project) is supported by both Chinese and international funding, in large part from the prizewinning Chinese research project "Global Change, Environmental Risk & Its Adaptation Paradigms." The IRG-Project will study global change and the mechanism of environmental risk, the evolution process of environmental risk and its integrated assessment, regionalization of Chinese and global environmental risk, and global and Chinese adaptation paradigms for environmental risk.

The aim of the IHDP-Integrated Risk Governance Project Series is to provide a forum for collaboration between academics and practitioners in integrated risk governance from various disciplines and sectors. The books focus on the identification, evaluation and management of emerging global large-scale risks. The first title Integrated Risk Governance - Science Plan and Case Study of Large-scale Disasters will be published in September 2012. The works presented in the series are based on projects undertaken and conducted by the IHDP-IRG groups (International Human Dimensions Programme). Books published in the series will be of interest to policymakers around the world working in government, industry and society at large, as well as to academics and students working in this field.

The book series also includes the following titles: Risk Modeling and Integrated Models; Understanding Socio-Ecological System from the Perspective of Integrated Risk Governance; Entry and Exit Transitions of Large-scale Disaster Risks; Early Warning System and Implementation for Large-scale Disasters; International Comparat
