Date:2/14/2008

Sea cliff erosion prediction, an automatic cameraman, wall boards made from hemp and plant-based glues, computers with common sense, origami optics, privacy-preserving surveillance systems, the strength of toucan beaks, and stem cell control with nano-science are just a few of the more than 250 research projects from every corner of the engineering world that will be presented by UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering graduate students on Thursday 21 February 2008 at Research Expo the research extravaganza at UCSDs Jacobs School of Engineering.

Descriptions of these and other hot posters are available at the online newsroom for Research Expo http://www.jacobsschool.ucsd.edu/re/posters.shtml

Journalists interested in these and all other research projects to be presented at the Research Expo conference on Thursday 21 February should contact Daniel Kane at dbkane@ucsd.edu or 858-534-3262

Journalists are welcome to wander through the posters from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Thursday 21 February at UC San Diego in La Jolla, CA.
