STEM Initiatives in Grade School are Discussed on "On Demand" with Rob Lowe

In an upcoming episode of “On Demand,” host Robe Lowe spotlights STEM initiatives in grade school.

Throughout the nation, institutions are lagging behind other industrialized countries when it comes to STEM-related fields, which focuses on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. But these fields introduce students to new subjects and allow them to use different methods to study them. Plus, STEM studies encourage creativity and trigger innovative thinking in students – ultimately encouraging growth and development.

Teaching STEM in elementary grades enables educators and their students to begin shaping tomorrow’s world today. Grade-school students who develop a foundation in science, technology, engineering, and math set themselves up to play an indispensable role in our country’s economic stability and ability to compete at the global level. Grade-school teachers can cultivate critical thinking and problem-solving skills in STEM initiatives and ultimately enable those students to have an academic edge as they continue their educational pursuits.
