SINGAPORE, Dec. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Rune, an information security firm committed to empowering the defense of privacy, today announced that John Haggard has been appointed to its Board of Advisors.  Mr. Haggard brings to Rune an extensive background in the information security sector. Lance Gaines, Rune's President and CTO, said, "We are very pleased to have an industry veteran like John agree to participate on our Board of Advisors.  He brings great ethics and technical acumen, which will help guide Rune through its next stage of development.  When analyzing anything technical, John brings a great depth of experience bringing to bear his many years as a technologist and senior executive.   Thank you John for joining the team."

Mr. Haggard added, "I have been in the cryptographic field for almost 30 years and finding a simple, universal, product (Deadbolt) that works for any data, within any application has been difficult, if not impossible. When the Rune team explained to me the Vernam Cipher was implemented in Deadbolt using modern cryptographic protocol standards, I immediately wanted more information. Use of One Time Pad (Vernam Cipher) guarantees unbreakable encryption; just Google Vernam Cipher and research from there. Simple and unbreakable rarely can be combined, and I verified they have accomplished the simple without compromise of integrity.  I am honored and pleased Rune invited me to be an Advisor, allowing my experience to be added to their vision."
