Registration is Open for First Ever Mushrooms and Health Summit
Date:7/18/2013

Registration is now open for the Mushrooms and Health Summit held at the Mayflower Renaissance hotel in Washington D.C. on September 9-10, 2013. The meeting is of interest to scientists, writers and researchers looking to learn and discuss the unique and comprehensive examination of the global research that links mushrooms to today's and future health issues.

A world-class scientific event

Learn from the world's top scientists, researchers and nutrition experts who will provide a broad range of perspectives and facilitate discussions around mushrooms from spore to spoon. Bring your experience and expertise to the table and shape the future of scientific research on mushrooms.

Since 2005, the mushroom industry has dedicated resources to better understand the nutrition properties and health benefits of mushrooms. From weight management to immunity to vitamin D, leading scientists and researchers have discovered new facts about mushrooms and what makes them unique dietary components. This will be an exciting time to learn about the growing body of evidence about mushrooms and health.

Presentation topics include:

  • Mushrooms' historical cultural use and unique nutrient, bioactive and mechanistic properties
  • Trends in global mushroom use, consumption and economic contribution
  • Emerging science linking mushrooms to health
  • The role of mushrooms in dietary guidance

Visit http://www.mushroomhealthsummit.com to register and view the full program agenda including an esteemed list of speakers and presenters. There is no cost to attend. Register by August 30, 2013 to take advantage of room block rates. Hotel arrangements can be booked now through the registration website.
