Promptu Unveils High Accuracy Voice-to-Text Dictation for Mobile Phones at CTIA

Technology expected to increase usability and adoption of SMS and mobile

Social Networking applications

MENLO PARK, Calif., Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Promptu Systems Corporation, a leading developer of innovative voice-powered mobile applications, unveiled today at the CTIA trade event in San Francisco a new and highly accurate voice dictation system. Using the company's proprietary Client Server Speech Recognition (CSSR(TM)) technology, the system converts a user's fluent, natural speech almost instantly into text. Suggested as a safer, more convenient text input method than the limited 12-button keypad of typical mobile handsets, the system is targeted at SMS, email and social networking applications.

"We believe we have overcome the accuracy limitations preventing successful continuous speech recognition on mobile devices, which has been the barrier to wide adoption," stated Giuseppe Staffaroni, President and CEO of Promptu. "Applications that use Promptu's Client Server Speech Recognition technology can dramatically increase the usability of speech as a means of user input. Users can simply talk to their mobile phones, rather than typing on tiny keyboards. We believe this is an exciting development in mobile user interface technologies."

Mobile carriers, handset manufacturers, social networking and related companies are encouraged to visit Promptu at the CTIA trade show at booth #1540 for a demonstration today (September 10) through Friday (September 12), or to contact the company by sending an email to ctia2008@promptu.com to arrange a private showing. The technology being demonstrated requires that a user have an active data connection at the time of voice input.
