NJIT's Newark College of Engineering announces honorees for annual Salute to Excellence

resident Joseph G. Stanley, PE, PP '78, '85, of Morristown, N.J., and American Society of Civil Engineers Executive Director Patrick Natale, PE '70, '75, of Flemington, N.J., received the NCE Outstanding Alumnus Award. Stanley also serves as President of the NJIT Alumni Association.

In addition to alumni, awards will be presented to notable NCE faculty, staff and students. Each year, student teams including the Steel Bridge Team and the Concrete Canoe Team display their competition entries at the event. In spring 2013, the Steel Bridge Team won the regional competition for the seventh consecutive year while the Concrete Canoe Team paddled to victory in an equally exciting metropolitan contest, placing first for design, lightness, efficiency and economy, as well as first-place overall.
