MADRID-MIT M+Vision Consortium hosts Biomedical Innovation Conference 2012
Date:5/30/2012

Madrid, May, 31st, 2012.- Madrid will become international destination for biomedical innovators next June 5-6 during the Biomedical Innovation Conference 2012, focused on building high performance innovation ecosystems, launched by the Madrid-MIT M+Vision Consortium. This new organization has been created by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the regional Government of the Comunidad de Madrid, through the madri+d Foundation. Leaders in technology development and commercialization from Boston, Madrid, and elsewhere in the US and EU will share their insights into how entrepreneurs, researchers and the public sector can collaborate to create sustainable and high performance innovation ecosystems. During the event, local innovation leaders will introduce the IDEA2 Madrid program, which is designed to promote biomedical technology innovation in the Spanish capital. Registration to the conference, designed for researchers, entrepreneurs, innovators and investors, among others, has no cost, but space is limited: read more.

The "2012 Biomedical Innovation Conference" will help attendees discover new ways to realize their R+D ideas; learn techniques to translate those ideas into innovative products and applications; encourage innovation within institutions, businesses and regions; accelerate translational biomedical research; and find channels to connect with the M+Vision Consortium, an innovation nexus linking Boston and Madrid.

Sessions on Tuesday June 5, will be focused on the generation of ideas as well as on the promotion of the innovation. Manuel Desco, of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Instituto de Investigacin Sanitaria Gregorio Maran, will lead a panel discussion with international leaders entitled "From idea to innovation: Experiences in academia for generating and realizing innovation".
