Moises ("Moe" to his friends) is going through the terminal phase of AIDS and, being a festive kind of guy, is bringing those nearest and dearest to him to his side for a Going Away For Good party. There's his writing partner and his wife, his best friend, his niece, and even Moe's ex-wife. (Why he ever got married will be revealed during the narrative.)

Moe, drifting in and out of the dementia that accompanies his illness, also has conversations with his alter ego, the glamorous and beautiful torch-singing drag queen Lupe, the fabulous one that is the center of Moe's fantasies.

Now Moe is Latino, so that means before he goes he will be in a confessional frame of mind. And more than skeletons will be coming out of the closet at this particular get-together. Long-hidden secrets will be revealed, some of them shocking.

But this is a party, so there will also be a lot of laughs to be had. And there are friends and family, so there's lots of love, too. Moe just insists that his approaching death will be as fabulous as his life.

This play is performed in English. There are several songs performed in Spanish.

The cast of the new production of "Dementia" includes Ralph Cole Jr., Danny De La Paz, Evelina Fernandez, Esperanza America Ibarra, Sal Lopez, Geoffrey Rivas and Lucy Rodriguez.

You are invited to join Moe's party . There's some sadness, but lots of joy. Just like life.
