The International Biometric Society has chosen Springer as the co-publisher of its Journal of Agricultural, Biological, and Environmental Statistics (JABES). The quarterly journal will start publication at Springer with Volume 15, Issue 1, in March 2010. Backfiles to 2001 will be available on Springer's electronic platform www.springerlink.com.
The Journal of Agricultural, Biological, and Environmental Statistics publishes papers of value to applied researchers and statistical consultants in the agricultural sciences, the biological sciences (including biotechnology), and the environmental sciences (including those dealing with natural resources). The focus is primarily on interdisciplinary papers as well as papers that illustrate the application of new and important statistical methods using real data. Carl Schwarz of Simon Fraser University in Canada is editor-in-chief.
Andrew Mead, President of the International Biometric Society, said, "We are delighted to be working with Springer to publish JABES. With the increasing emphasis on environmental and ecological research, this is an important area of activity for the International Biometric Society, and the journal is a key resource to support the research activities of many members of the society. We are looking forward to a successful partnership with Springer."
John Kimmel, Executive Editor of Statistics at Springer, said, "We are very pleased that the International Biometric Society chose Springer to publish this important journal in applied statistics. We look forward to working
