Intellifit(R) Offers Custom-Made Jeans with a High-Tech Twist
Date:2/11/2008

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Most fashion consumers consider custom-made jeans to be a luxury reserved for celebrities and lottery winners. But Intellifit, a leader in proprietary apparel fit technology for retail, is out to change that perception.

This week, the company will begin a test of its "Custom Jeans Center" at its company retail store outside of Philadelphia. Using Intellifit technology, fashion consumers can design their own custom-made jeans with a guarantee of a perfect fit. Retail shopping is by appointment and includes consultation with a fashion advisor.

At the retail location, the consumer enters a see-through Intellifit Virtual Fitting Room that's 8' high and 7' wide. In 15 seconds, safe, low power radio waves collect numerous, accurate body measurements -- a personal "FitPrint(TM)" -- while the consumer remains fully clothed. The customer can choose jeans from a selection of styles and washes and add details such as pocket shape and design, stitching and personalization options.

The FitPrint is transferred electronically from the retail location to the jeans manufacturer, where the garment pieces are custom-cut by computer control. The completed custom jeans are shipped directly to the customer in 3 to 4 weeks.

"Once someone gets a pair of custom-made jeans, it's hard to go back to the rack," said Rob Weber, Intellifit President. "Our process brings retail custom-made jeans into a price point where many more fashion consumers can afford them -- typically starting at under $150. Our test will help us determine the scalability of the process. With a positive result, an international roll-out will be close behind."

About Intellifit

Intellifit currently markets a patented 3D full body scanner that accurately takes over 200 body measurements of a fully clothed person in under 15 seconds. Intellifit's Virtual Fitting Room(TM) represents the only fully clothed scanner in the world, and Intellifit uses these measurements to both produce custom-made clothes and provide custom-fit fashion apparel recommendations. Intellifit customers can use their profiles to shop at retail and on-line stores for custom-made jeans, pants, khakis, shirts, as well as select ready-made garments. To date, Intellifit has measured over 230,000 individuals, representing the largest sizing database of its kind in the world.
