IdentiPHI Re Launches SAFmodule Software to Secure Novell(R) Networks
Date:9/20/2007

IdentiPHI announces the launch of SAFmodule(TM) 3.1 SP3 to expand Novell Modular Authentication Services (NMAS) biometric authentication methods

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- SAFmodule for NMAS(TM) brings secure, easily managed biometric authentication to Novell(R) eDirectory networks by coupling IdentiPHI's proven security framework with Novell's Novell Modular Authentication Service (NMAS(TM)) security framework. NMAS is a component of eDirectory, Novell's market-leading directory service.

"IdentiPHI has been dedicated to supporting our Novell customer base since the acquisition of SAFmodule(TM) and SAFsolution(TM) from Saflink in February 2007," explains Mark Norwalk, Chief Technology Officer.

IdentiPHI's first response to these customers is the SAFmodule 3.1 SP3 release scheduled for mid-September to include support for the latest Novell Client version 4.91.

SAFmodule minimizes network maintenance infrastructure impact by fully leveraging native eDirectory redundancy and scalability. Network administrators will not need hours of special training to learn how to manage and administer SAFmodule. In fact, many SAFmodule features actually reduce the amount of time administrators need to spend worrying about their network by removing obstacles to user adoption of biometric authentication.

By supporting industry standards, SAFmodule allows you to choose the most appropriate biometric technology for your network. In addition, SAFmodule enables you to mix and match technologies, perhaps by choosing the most user-friendly device for one set of users, and the most secure for another set. As new standards-compliant devices become available, you may install, test, and deploy them with no disruption to your network or its users.

Many Novell customers rely on server-side computing and remote administration which requires the same biometric authentication capabilities. SAFmodule(TM) can be configured to include SAFremote Au
