IDWeek 2012 now accepting abstract submissions
Date:2/28/2012

Arlington, VA (February 28, 2012) Abstracts are now being accepted for IDWeek 2012, the first-ever combined meeting of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA), the HIV Medicine Association (HIVMA), and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS).

The inaugural IDWeek meeting will take place October 17-21, 2012, in San Diego, CA. With the theme Advancing Science, Improving Care, IDWeek will feature the latest science and bench-to-bedside approaches in prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and epidemiology of infectious diseases, including HIV, across the lifespan.

The deadline for abstract submissions is May 11, 2012. Numerous awards and travel grants are available to investigators. IDWeek also provides multiple opportunities for scientists to have their research reviewed by colleagues and leaders in the field, including oral and poster presentations, poster discussion rounds led by thought-leaders, and IDWeek-sponsored press conferences. Top abstracts in various categories will be featured throughout the meeting sessions. Fellows in training are particularly encouraged to submit their best research.

Subject categories for abstract submissions include antimicrobial resistance, diagnostics, global health, travel medicine, HIV/AIDS and other retroviruses, adult and pediatric vaccines, clinical mycology, infection epidemiology and prevention, outbreak investigations, pediatric and perinatal infections, and virology. The complete subject category list is online.
