TSA's Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Program Ensures No Fraudulent Duplicate Enrollments Using ID Solutions Technology
MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- ID Solutions, Inc., the world's leader in low-cost, high-performance solutions for trusted credential assurance, reported that it has completed delivery of critical software to the Transportation Security Agency's (TSA's) TWIC program. The software license terms permit unlimited enrollment of applicants under TSA's ports protection program, using estimates for pricing purposes of 2 million enrollments.
ID Solution's ID Search Engine(TM) provides fingerprint match services to TSA's TWIC enrollment applications to assure that none of these secure credentials are issued to a given applicant more than once, and that all individuals in the TWIC database are unique and unduplicated. This requires matching each new enrollee against all others already enrolled, approving new enrollments only when they are unique and disallowing frauds when they already exist in the approved/enrolled database.
This award, and TSA's full payment for both unlimited enrollments and multi-year maintenance, validates ID Solutions' flawless performance on this challenging program. As of this date, TSA has processed over 515,000 applications through the ID Search Engine, with current workload of approximately 3000 applications per day. With no reported instances of false matches, this represents over 130 billion match operations without a single false match.
Today's TWIC program, and ID Solutions' contribution to it, is
considered to be an initial phase covering US Port operations only, while
extensions to other segments of critical transportation infrastructure,
including interstate trucking, airports, trains and busses, highways and
bridges, etc., are expected in coming years. While the initial project is
limited to ports protection, industry estimates of total TWIC enrollments
