HSPD-24 White Paper Now Available From WCC Smart Search & Match
Date:1/18/2009

UTRECHT, The Netherlands and RESTON, Virginia, January 15 /PRNewswire/ -- WCC Smart Search & Match, the leading provider of high-performance search and match software, today announced the publication of a white paper on Homeland Security Presidential Directive - 24 (HSPD-24).

The recently issued presidential directive mandates a new level of interagency cooperation and interoperability to enhance the terrorist screening process and, at the same time, specifies the use of a layered approach to identification utilizing biometric, biographic, and related contextual data. WCC's new white paper explores the ramifications of HSPD-24 and explores its implications for the matching software that supports these processes, with a close look at how WCC's ELISE ID supports the layered approach.

"HSPD-24 provides a focal point for efforts to enhance terrorist screening and mandates new approaches that we believe will prove very valuable," said Peter Went, CEO of WCC. "ELISE ID, our platform for multimodal fusion, can utilize biometric, biographic, and related contextual data in any combination within the identification process, providing key functionality to support this directive."

WCC Smart Search & Match is a sponsor of the upcoming National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) "2009 Biometrics Conference: Strategies for Implementing HSPD-24", January 27 and 28, in Arlington, VA, http://www.ndia.org/EVENTS/Pages/9860_NDIABiometricsConference2009.aspx. Copies of the newly published WCC white paper may either be obtained directly at the WCC booth at the event, downloaded from the WCC web site at http://www.multimodalfusion.com/hspd, or requested via an email to
