Gateway Genomics Ranks 236 in the Inc. 500 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America List for 2019
Date:8/14/2019

Gateway Genomics, a leading developer of direct-to-consumer genetic tests that give families insight into their future children, announces inclusion in the 38th annual Inc. 500|5000 list of fastest growing private companies, in the first year the company has been eligible to apply. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2015. Ranking in the list is determined by the percentage revenue growth from 2015 to 2018, with minimums set for each year. With 1,786% revenue growth from 2015 to 2018, Gateway Genomics ranked #236 in the list, and #23 in the Health sector.

“We’re honored to be named to such a prestigious list,” says Gateway Genomics CEO, Chris Jacob. “The revenue growth we’ve achieved in the last three years reflects the desire of parents to know their baby’s gender as early into pregnancy as possible. It translates into a mandate to continue developing products that give parents easy access to more information about their future children, to help them live healthier, better lives. In the next few years, we’re committed to launching those products as well as expanding our international footprint, and expect to see the growth trajectory continue.”

The SneakPeek Early Gender DNA Test by Gateway Genomics is designed to specifically focus on fetal sex and return just one answer – male or female. The company has made the test available in two ways: An At-Home version that can be ordered from an ecommerce website, and a Clinical version that is offered in over 300 participating medical locations. Both can be taken at 8 weeks into pregnancy, (weeks to months earlier than any other method), returning results with 99.1% accuracy in as little as 48 hours.

In achieving the Inc. 500|5000 list, Gateway Genomics joins notable biotech companies Prometheus Labs and Crescendo Biosciences, which were also recognized by this select group in their earlier years. The 38th annual Inc. 5000 list is the most competitive compared to prior years with an aggregate revenue of $237.7 billion in 2018.

“This list represents the most innovative, well-positioned private companies in America,” continues Mr. Jacob. “Being part of it validates the Gateway Genomics vision of making genetic tests easy and accessible to everyone, through both direct-to-consumer and B2B channels.”
