Futronic Announces Microsoft Vista and Windows 2008 Server Support for Its Fingerprint Logon Software

HONG KONG, Feb. 29 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Futronic Technology Company Limited, a global provider of biometric software and hardware products, today announced that the latest version of its FinLogon (fingerprint-logon) software supports Microsoft Vista and Windows 2008 Server.

FinLogon is fingerprint authentication software for Microsoft Windows Logon control using proprietary fingerprint recognition technology. By a finger touch, computer users can logon Windows of local computer or Active Directory of Windows Server. Password is replaced by fingerprint. This makes the life of computer users and system administrators simpler and easier but with enhanced computer and network security. There are 2 Editions for FinLogon, Personal and Enterprise, to target different users and applications.

FinLogon Personal Edition is mainly for personal users. It works on Windows 2000, XP, Vista 32 bit and 64 bit. It uses customized Gina technology on Windows 2000/XP and the Credential Provider component of Vista to provide Logon control using fingerprint. This is free software and can be downloaded from Futronic webpage. It is only necessary for customers to buy the Futronic FS80 USB2.0 Fingerprint Scanner to use it.

FinLogon Enterprise Edition targets corporate customers for logon Server using fingerprint in networked computers environment. There are Client and Server components. The server component works on Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server which uses Active Directory Schema Extension technology and integrates seamlessly with Active Directory. Client component works on Windows 2000, XP, Vista 32 bit and 64 bit. Once it is installed in client computer, all domain users can logon Active Directory by a finger touch. Installation is very easy and can be set up and running in 2-3 hours. Futronic charges per user license fee for FinLogon Enterprise Edition. That is, enterprises pay according to the exact number of users. No setup charge, bundle and additional fee.
