Date:7/14/2009

SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a leading supplier of innovative computer products including hard disk drives, peripherals and biometric security solutions, today announced that the Fujitsu PalmSecure vascular biometric authentication technology has been certified under the International Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation as Evaluation Assurance Level 2. PalmSecure is the first vascular authentication solution to receive this certification, validating PalmSecure as a superior form of biometric identification and security.

Common Criteria is a set of established guidelines for evaluating and certifying the information security of IT products and information systems. It is currently recognized in 26 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, Germany, France and Spain. Achieving Evaluation Assurance Level 2 provides Fujitsu with a key security and competitive advantage in sales and business development efforts to federal agencies as well as to commercial enterprises seeking security products that comply with high level industry and international standards.

"PalmSecure is currently being used in a wide variety of applications, protecting against unauthorized access to sensitive data at government agencies, healthcare companies, educational institutions, financial services firms and other organizations," said Jim Preasmyer, director of sales and business development, Advanced Technology Group, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. "Achieving Evaluation Assurance Level 2 certification under Common Criteria solidifies PalmSecure's position as one of the industry's most secure biometric identification solutions."
