Bethesda, MD This 2014 Science Research Conference focuses on how retinoids are critical for many physiological and pathological processes, and how they can be developed into drugs to combat a broad array of diseases such as cancers, and neurological, dermatological, metabolic and immune diseases. This meeting also incorporates the "2nd International Retinoid Meeting", and expands the attendance from all the international scientific communities, including those in North America, Europe and Asia.
The meeting will address questions about retinoids in biology, chemistry and diseases, and particularly will emphasize issues related to clinical application and global health/nutrition. This conference will begin with a Round Table panel, followed by talks presented by highly regarded international scientists, constituting 8 symposia on fundamental problems of Retinoids (metabolism, enzymology and signaling), cutting edge clinical relevance (cancers, immunity, neurological and metabolic diseases), and new drug development (chemical biology of Retinoids).
The conference will conclude with a Poster Award section and a Meet the Expert section to foster networking among juniors/seniors, domestic/international, and academic/clinical/industrial investigators. Attendees are from academia, clinical practice and industry, and represent a wide range of specialties including, but not limited to, biochemistry, cell biology, structural biology, genetics, physiology, nutrition, medicine, and therapeutics. This meeting is the major international meeting on Retinoids held in North America. By incorporating attendees of the International Retinoid Meeting, this conference also has the biggest international representation in the field.
