FASEB announces 2014 SRC: Protein Phosphorylation, Cellular Plasticity & Signaling Rewiring
Date:1/22/2014

Bethesda, MD This FASEB Science Research Conference focuses on signaling pathway feedback loops, reprogramming and mechanisms of drug resistance due to signaling rewiring. A growing appreciation has emerged that though many of the core components of signaling pathways have been identified in the last three decades an in depth understanding of the dynamics, spatial constraints and contextual inputs needs to be elucidated.

The conference will focus on advances on the elaboration of signaling feedback loops underlying resistance in cancer as a model system. Highlights of the conference will include the structural elucidation of kinase regulation, analysis of crosstalk and complex signaling networks, scaffold proteins and kinase signal sensitization, kinases in stress response and nutrient sensing, the role of protein kinases, and their downstream targets regulating growth, adhesion, invasion, metastasis, the use of quantitative mass spectrometry and therapeutic kinase inhibitor strategies.

Travel grants and poster awards will be available for trainees. An impressive slate of world-renown speakers combined with the intimacy of a highly focused agenda with ample opportunities for discussion and interaction, are designed to enhance collaboration and foster new ideas and research directions in the field.
