Date:7/15/2014

LONDON, July 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Cross Match Technologies, the largest independent global provider of biometric identity management solutions, announced the availability of its biometric solutions to enable criminal booking, mobile ID / enrolment and border verification / identification via the UK's G-Cloud CloudStore. Cross Match fully supports the Government with their objective to transform the way IT is not only bought but also consumed across the wider public sector to help improve the efficiency of police, government agencies and the military.

"Our pedigree is in delivering mission critical solutions that support programmes aimed at helping safeguard society," noted Eric Vermillion, Cross Match's senior vice president of sales. "We have a long history of serving UK law enforcement, the Home Office and the Ministry of Defense with their identity management needs." Cross Match fingerprint scanners can be found in virtually every constabulary across England, and at each immigration desk at air ports of entry.

Customers are now able to access a select range of Cross Match's solutions via the G-Cloud CloudStore. The G-Cloud catalogue is open to all public sector clients and is designed to provide a simple streamlined process for buying Information and Communications Technology (ICT) focused products and services as a commodity, thereby avoiding time-consuming and costly open tenders.

Cross Match's G-Cloud offering incorporates proprietary software applications and fully certified livescan and multimodal mobile hardware, addressing multiple biometric and credentialing modalities. Applications include WEBS™ cloud-based identity management software, as well as Mission Oriented Biometric Software (MOBS) for multi-biometric handhelds. Technology solutions include the company's Guardian® and Patrol ten-print fingerprint scanners, 500P and 1000PX palm scanners, Verifier® Mw single finger identification handheld, SEEK® Avenger multi-biometric handheld, and Authenticator® secure credential reader.

Cross Match products and solutions are deployed by more than 10,000 customers in over 80 countries worldwide. Solutions enable criminal bookings; background checks for job applicants, security clearances and visa applications; verify identities at national borders and other checkpoints; register citizens for driver's license, national identification, and voter programmes; prevent identity fraud in large-scale government and civilian programmes; and manage individual identities for a more private, secure, and convenient world.

The company opened a UK office in March of this year, reinforcing its commitment to the market.  The office, located in Arlington Business Park, Theale, Reading, is home to UK sales, business development and sales engineering personnel.
