Cfaed starts a research project on organic electronics with the University of Brasília
Date:3/31/2014

On April 1, the Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden of TU Dresden starts a binational three-year research project on organic electronics with the University of Braslia. The project is part of the program 'Science without Frontiers' of the Brazilian Government. "Brazil would like to exploit its enormous plant resources for organic electronics", Dr.-Ing. Martin Claus, group leader in the cfaed research path Carbon at Technische Universitt Dresden (TUD), explains. Jointly with professor Stefan Blawid, senior scientist at the laboratory for electronic devices and integrated circuits (LDCI), he will lead the project. "The LDCI uses the fruits of the Buriti Palm to develop ink for printable organic circuits and wants to intensify the research in this area in collaboration with my group", Dr.-Ing. Martin Claus explains. In this context, the potential of this technology for applications such as wireless sensors which high-speed signals should be examined. In future, the TUD researcher will work in Brazil for a couple of months each year. Currently, the application procedure for a postdoctoral researcher and a PhD student for the project is in process. Both will spend some time in the research group of Dr.-Ing. Claus before joining the group in Brazil.
