Date:9/11/2012

BOULDER, Colo., September 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- BiOptix announced continued support of the Colorado BioScience Association today, with participation in BioWest 2012, a leading life sciences showcase event in Colorado to be held at the Denver Marriott City Center.

"BiOptix continues to believe in the goals and community that is fostered by the Colorado BioScience Association, noted Rick Whitcomb, President and CEO of BiOptix.   "As Colorado continues to expand its footprint in the biosciences, BiOptix is proud to be an important part of that growth story, noted Whitcomb.

At BioWest 2012, BiOptix will highlight the upcoming 404pi, one of the most anticipated product launches in the SPR (Surface Plasmon Resonance) space.  "We are excited to launch the BiOptix 404pi, and feel that this Enhanced SPR instrument provides exceptional value and changes the game," noted Ken Wilczek, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for BiOptix.  "We have significant and building interest in the 404pi," continued Wilczek.

Features of the BiOptix 404pi include:

  • Enhanced SPR for high sensitivity
  • 4 injector / 4 flow cell design for high-throughput
  • Advanced automated fluidic system for fast kinetic measurements
  • Multiple surface chemistries
  • Compatible with industry standard Scrubber 2 software
  • Cost-effective and simple to operate

Surface Plasmon Resonance is an advanced and highly sensitive optical technology that can measure refractive index changes on a sensor chip's gold surface due to a change in mass that occurs during a binding event. This change can be used to monitor biological interactions such as the concentration of target mo
