Bausch + Lomb übernimmt Technolas Perfect Vision GmbH

ROCHESTER, New York und MÜNCHEN, 7. November 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Bausch + Lomb, der globale Spezialist für Augenheilkunde, gab heute bekannt, dass er seine Option zum Kauf aller im Umlauf befindlichen und unverkauften Aktien von Technolas™ Perfect Vision GmbH (TPV) ausgeübt hat, einem führenden Hersteller ophthalmologischer Lasersysteme. Technolas Perfect Vision ging im Jahr 2009 aus einem Joint Venture zwischen Bausch + Lomb und 20/10 PERFECT VISION AG zur Entwicklung und Vermarktung fortgeschrittener Technologien für die Refraktiv- und Kataraktchirurgie hervor. Den Erwartungen zufolge wird die Transaktion Ende Januar 2013 abgeschlossen.

Bausch + Lomb und Technolas Perfect Vision schlossen im September 2011 einen Vertrag über die gemeinsame Vermarktung ab, der Bausch + Lomb auch die Option zum Kauf des Unternehmens einräumte, falls bestimmte Meilensteine erreicht wurden. Seitdem haben die Unternehmen ihre kombinierten Kompetenzen in der Refraktiv- und Kataraktchirurgie für den Vertrieb und die Weiterentwicklung des VICTUS™-Femtosecondlasers genutzt, der die Unterstützung von Katarakt- und Hornhauteingriffen auf einer einzelnen Plattform möglich macht. In den letzten zwölf Monaten wurde die VICTUS-Plattform von europäischen und US-amerikanischen Aufsichtsbehörden zur Vermarktung zugelassen und die Unternehmen sind im Rahmen ihrer beschleunigten Markteinführung dabei, weitere Zulassungsanträge in anderen Teilen der Welt zu stellen.
