This compared to a GAAP net loss of $0.7 million, or $0.03 per diluted share, for the same period a year ago, which included $0.4 million of stock-based compensation charges. GAAP net loss for the nine months ended September 30, 2009 was $4.9 million, or $0.23 per share, compared to a net loss of $3.2 million, or $0.13 per share, for the same period a year ago.

The non-GAAP net loss for the third quarter of 2009, excluding the effect of stock-based compensation, was $0.5 million, or $0.02 per diluted share. For the nine months ended September 30, 2009, the company had a non-GAAP net loss, excluding the effect of stock-based compensation, of $3.4 million, or $0.16 per share.
