Atmel's Kerry Maletsky to Speak at Advanced Identification

Systems/Commercial Biometrics Conference

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/-- Atmel (Nasdaq: ATML), a leader in secure biometric co-processor solutions, announced today that Kerry Maletsky, Business Unit Director, Advanced Products Group, will present "Secure Biometric Co-processor: Solving the Network Security Puzzle" at the Advanced Identification Systems/Commercial Biometrics Conference in Washington, DC, on November 30 at 11:30 am. Mr. Maletsky's talk focuses on the concerns surrounding biometric privacy and security in a network environment. Specifically, it addresses the effects of how the biometric system architecture and components affect the trust that networks and uses can place on the operation of the system. It further explores how the inclusion of a client hardware biometric co-processor can add both strong authentication and convenience in a network environment -- while maintaining the confidentiality of the users of and the confidence of the network provider. Mr. Maletsky brings over 12 years of security expertise and 27 years in the semiconductor industry to this presentation. Atmel will also exhibit its fingerprint sensor solutions during the conference. The AIS/CBX conference opens on November 28 and continues through November 30 at the Westin, Washington, DC, city center.
